Every RESB rating answers two things: how explicit it is, and what is in it.

Reading the Box

  • The banner — RESB CERTIFIED. An accredited partner rated this title under the RESB Rating Standard. The rating can be trusted.

  • The big letter — Class. How explicit the title is: S Softcore · H Hardcore · I Intense · E Edge.

  • The row beneath — Descriptors. What the title contains: F Force · R Restraint · P Power · T Theme · B Body.

  • The plus — +. One or more of the descriptors is present above moderate level.

So a box reading H / F R P + is a hardcore title featuring force and restraint and power dynamic— the + flags that at least one of them is above moderate.

What It Doesn't Mean

The box describes the content. It does not judge it, and it records only what is performed on screen — never real conduct — film is fiction, powered by professional performances.
